Oktoberfest
and Fall Business Meeting

The crews of Annalee, Aquila, Champagne, Contigo, Elsie's Phantasie, Painkiller, Silent Running, Stargazer, Tenacity, Windrose and Windsprint gathered in the pavilion at BYC on a chilly afternoon to celebrate the end of the sailing season. Everyone enjoyed grilled bratwurst, hot german potato salad, pork and sauerkraut, two hearty soups (needed to temper the cool afternoon air), potato and macaroni salads and deserts of homemade organic apple pie and a German chocolate cake. Apart from the bratwurst the favorite of the evening was the warmed wine which further tempered the cool evening air.

The business portion of the meeting was brief. There were only two points of business. The first was the annual election of officers, which was unanimous for the proposed slate of Bill Ubelacker(Commodore), Elsie Grady-McDonough(Vice Commodore), Steve Coppage(Secretary) and Marie Frankel(Purser). The office of Sail Fleet Captain is vacant going into 2016. Carl Reitz talked about next summer's Hunter Rendezvous at Spring Cove Marina in Solomons.

Sadly, the season is coming to an end. Hopefully, it will be a short and mild winter.
