Commodore's Corner
Summer 2008

As usual I am having a grand time this year with my fellow NSHSA Sailors. We have had great turnouts and our raft Captains have worked really hard to host fun and educational events. We even had mild weather for Bill and Linda’s Splashdown event in April.

I hope you have had a chance to participate in some of our fun events this season. The Shipley’s (Tim and Sybil) and Jenson’s (Sig and Patricia) planned and executed a fantastic Survivors Raft, Tom Schmidt and others worked very hard and we had a successful and fun Safety Raft. Paul Borchardt lead a Circumnavigation around the Delmarva and being a Father I really enjoyed the Father's Day Raft hosted by Eddie and Debbie Sabol. Again, thank you Raft Captains!

If you didn’t make any of these, well we still have plenty of rafts left for you to attend. Make plans to join us for the Kids Raft hosted by Paul and Dottie Borchardt over Labor Day weekend; our Annual Picnic on Saturday, September 6th at Tidewater Marina; Wine Tasting with Chris and Debbie Schultz and Bill and Linda Ubelacker, September 20th; and the Commodore’s Party, November 8th. Please check our web site ( www.nshsa.org) often to see changes or additions to our schedule. I am sure there will additions to our schedule this fall.

I would like to thank everyone, especially those who are willing to put in the time and energy to participate in contributing to the club and our general membership for their continued support. There is still plenty of opportunity to host or help out with an event this year. Feel free to contact any Officer or listed raft Captain and ask to host or co-host a raft this year. It is a great way to get involved in your club.

See you on the Water. Don’t forget to monitor channel 78.
